MyQuiz and Our Journey in Fan Engagement
Client Success Story: From Doha to Germany
Looking Back
In 2019, I had the privilege of kicking off a partnership that I’m still very proud of today. Together with our client MyQuiz, we brought an interactive, immersive stadium experience to life at the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup in Doha.
I remember the excitement in the stadium when, for the very first time, fans weren’t just watching the game — they were part of it. Thanks to our collaboration with Vodafone Qatar and the support of our partner IAS Dubai, the “Fan of the Match” digital quiz lit up the stands.
The Experience
At halftime, fans pulled out their mobile phones and joined a live quiz with just a tap. Five questions on Gulf Cup history, a countdown clock ticking, and thousands of people competing against each other.
The best part? Their answers and names appeared on the giant stadium screens in real time. You could feel the energy shift — the whole crowd suddenly leaning in, cheering not just for the teams, but also for the fans playing along.
When the winners were announced and prizes handed out, the joy was infectious. It was one of those moments where I thought: yes, this is exactly why we do what we do.

Then Came the Pause
Of course, none of us knew what was just around the corner. A few months later, COVID-19 hit, and overnight, on-site events came to a complete stop.
I won’t lie — that was tough. We had just proven what was possible, and suddenly the stadiums were empty. But instead of giving up, I kept believing in the potential of MyQuiz. I knew this product could reshape fan engagement, and I was determined to find the next opportunity.
Moving Forward
That perseverance eventually paid off. We signed a deal with the German Handball Federation, bringing MyQuiz to halftime breaks in handball arenas across Germany.
Standing in those arenas, watching fans pick up their phones and join in, I felt the same rush I had back in Doha. Different sport, different country — but the same magic of turning spectators into participants.
What I Learned
Looking back, the Gulf Cup in 2019 was more than just a project. It was the spark. It showed me that when you combine sports, technology, and human connection, you can create unforgettable shared experiences.
Even though the pandemic disrupted everything, it also reminded me why I believe so strongly in what we do: because engagement, joy, and connection will always find a way back.
From Doha to Germany, this journey with MyQuiz continues — and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next.
